Nosound & Henry Fool set to play the Resonance Festival in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support

By Kscope on July 10, 2014 in Henry Fool, Live, Nosound

After losing his mum to cancer last year, Mike Morton (of The Gift) hatched the idea for the Resonance Festival with some close musical friends.  He decided to stage an event which would celebrate life and music whilst also raising funds in aid of cancer support. “We may never find a cure for the disease, but we can ease the lives of those who suffer from it.  We chose MacMillan Cancer Support as our beneficiary because they do incredible, tireless work, helping  patients to live in dignity and love.”

The line-up is all about ‘music without boundaries.’ Progressive and adventurous rock bands will rub shoulders with electronica, world, acoustic, avant-garde, jazz-fusion, metal and medieval folk acts! The only musical flavours not on the sonic menu will be formulaic pop and electronic dance (…since we already have quite enough of that…)  You can check out the lineup on: www.resonance-festival.com You will also find all you need to know about tickets, location, facilities and the festival’s philosophy on there.

Resonance will run for four days, from Thursday 31st July to Sunday 3rd August. The Thursday and Friday night will be evenings only, and Saturday/Sunday will be ‘all-dayers’.  It is happening at The Bedford in Balham: www.thebedford.co.uk

The venue is known as a comedy ‘mecca’, but also hosts music festivals, theatre, gigs and clubs.  It is a beautiful place with three stages. The first and largest is the Balham Globe Theatre,  a stylish, Elizabethan room with minstrel gallery, awnings, heraldry and dark wood. The second is The Ballroom, an elegant Victorian space. The third is The Tavistock Room, a more intimate space, ideal for the acoustic/eclectic stuff. All in all, this will be a grown up, classy environment in which to soak up amazing sounds and watch some great performances. There are 4 bars, a chill-out zone and top notch catering facilities on site , too.

Stage concept:

  • Stage One (Globe Theatre) – Progressive Stage
  • Stage Two (Ballroom) – Jack Daniels Stage (Rock)
  • Stage Three (Tavistock) – Synergy Stage (Eclectic)

Nosound will be headlining the PROG stage on Friday 1st August and Henry Fool will be final support for The Enid on the same stage the following night, Saturday 2nd August.

Tickets are shifting fast, and they are expecting a sell-out.
